Do not get me fallacious, I am nowhere near the photographer Arthur Morris is, but the rising world of digital pictures has taken the bloom off this rose. This title needs updating for the new world. This ebook focuses primarily on work performed with full-body movie cameras (where Morris earned his repute), and much of what is right here would apply to full-body digital SLRs. Drawback is, most of us cannot afford them, and we're pressured to utilizing APS-C, smaller-frame cameras. Probably the most vital factor there may be that the images delivered to the sensors are the central portion of the total-body sensor, so a lens connected to the digicam "acts like" it has a longer focal length. This impacts things like composition and lens choice, and a few element from the grasp would have been insightful.
I wish to have seen a more thorough dialogue of the use use of extension tubes in front of long lenses (Morris uses them). I am inclined to compare this e-book less favorably with something by John Shaw, who very clearly and amusingly gets us into the nitty-gritty details of what AND why we do things a certain way.
I was also a little surprised on the quality of the photographs. Morris is a fine photographer, and the guide is chock stuffed with his most interesting work - but the replica of them leaves lots to be desired. This isn't a knock on Morris, however this title is a decided step down from Amphoto pictures guides.
Wow this e book saved my attention. I read it in one sitting. I re-learn it the next day. The photographs are wonderful and Mr. Morris could be very generous together with his descriptions, data, location advice and more.
It is a bit dated, does not cowl digital and mentions gear typically no longer accessible, but the instruction on publicity is nearly as good as I've seen.
Mr. Morris additionally talks at size about exposure compensation which I found very helpful.
Mr. Morris has a properly-deserved repute as America's number one hen photographer and his background as a trainer comes in handy here. Even if you're not into fowl images, test this e-book out. Anyone can be taught from The Art of Chook Photography
