This is a good book. The characters are humorous and actual, the dialouge is good, the pictures add to the story as an alternative of taking away from it, and it has a approach of interesting to how actual individuals think. Yet...it has no plot.
Lynne Rae Perkins set the stage for a novel perfectly. Her predominant character Debbie is likable and the narrative is nicely done. However this ebook never takes off. The primary downside in the plot is Debbie's buddies Maureen growing closer to a different lady and leaving Debbie, but it isn't handled like a disaster. The reader feels detatched from Debbie's reactions- and the reactions themselves seem imprecise and fuzzy, as if all the pieces's occuring to Debbie too late.
All Alone In The Universe reads like a series of short stories divided into chapters. I read it in a single afternoon and did like it, however there is no satisfaction in reading it. Subplots like Marie and Bobby's situations and Debbie's mother's picking up the hitchhiker are opened up but then trickle away into nothing as if the writer forgot about them. It does not read like a novel should, utterly missing in some kind of climax. Yet I preferred it, and it still managed to be gripping. Debbie's musings in the beginning of the ebook seemed annoying- but ultimately that is what your entire novel is about how she views the world and what she discovers. Any fan of motion or adventure will want to veer far-off from this one, nevertheless it's perfect for people who wish to examine real life and how folks see it.
